12 Things | Bob Ridge

12 Things Thursday is a new weekly Blog addition to Jared Wade | Professional Event Host's main Blog.  In an effort to learn more about the professionals that I work with, I invite a different professional and friend to tell us 12 Things that most people don't know about them!  Each week every person chooses 12 new and original questions just for them!  Enjoy!  #12ThingsThursday

1: What was your favorite food when you were a child?  Bacon.  Ooh, ooh - ask me what my favorite food as a teenager was...  Bacon.  And as an adult?  Bacon.  I'm like a living Beggin' Strips commercial.

2: What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?  The ONLY song on my iPod is "Cupid Shuffle," because one DJ I worked with actually didn't have it!  So I downloaded it for him to play off of my iPhone.

3: If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint?  The view from the Kalalau Lookout in Kauai practically IS a painting, and it changes every second.  That would be fun to try, though it might be a little dangerous to attempt in person.

4: What is your favorite body part?  Every male that answers this question for you is lying.

5: If you knew the world was ending in 2012, what would you do differently?  Mostly I would be pretty disappointed that someone in 2014 didn't tell me that the world already ended two years ago.

6: If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?  Paul McCartney.  Not because I'd actually learn anything, but because I'd be able to just stare at him in awe the whole time.

7: If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?  As a child I used to think Trebor was cool.  That's Robert in reverse.  I guess my nickname in reverse would be OK, too.

8: If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would it be?  I'm trying to figure out what flavor of a combined animal, drink & ice cream wouldn't be completely disgusting.

9: What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?  This one's easy.  "Bob" by Weird Al Yankovic.  (Really, it's a great song - check it out!)  But seriously, you could put "Here Comes the Sun" on a loop and I'd be good with that.

10: Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?  Everything that is great about my business, and everything I have done to build it up to that level, has come as a direct result of getting screwed over by a former partner.  Long but true story.

11: What was the first thing you bought with your own money?  Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  15 cents.  I believe it was a vending machine in San Francisco when I was 2.

12: What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?  I almost teared up laughing at a random quote from Arrested Development just today.  Pretty much any line from that show gets me!
